However, many people are overwhelmed by their downloading choices - and are unsure which music solution will best suit your needs. And here is a big concern ...
When searching for free music it can be confusing and contradictory on the legal situation. It's true. Many people have questions about P2P file-sharing networks, and run the risk of (and possibly sued) by the Recording Industry Association of America someday.
But even with the threat of the RIAA action risks, more and more people are using P2P programs than ever. Why?
The Pew Internet survey (October 2003) revealed that over two thirds of Internet users, online music say they do not, if you have copyrights.
According to the survey, which is seeking to download music online cited many reasons for ambivalence on matters of copyright, including:
- You have the feeling that the CD prices are too high.
- Too little profit goes to artists.
- It is a way to sample music before buying the CD.
- The music may not be available offline, such as indie music.
- You have the feeling that they are entitled to "fair use" of music that I purchased.
Although these results are bad news for the RIAA legal action, the risks remain very real, if the corrected copy music illegally downloaded or shared online.
And although the RIAA has lost court cases in the past against Morpheus and Grokster, that is only because the industry to change their tactics for the individual instead of sharing files. Furthermore, it is no secret that the RIAA will continue its campaign to sue people who share the illegal copying of material corrected.
Like his music online - the right way? Here are some helpful tips:
1) Do your research. Take time to compare all the options for downloading music online for you to choose.
2) Get the facts. Learn more about the critical differences between the legal music sites VS the file-sharing networks.
3) Stay legal. You should never reproduce, distribute or share copyrighted material publicly available on the Internet.
4) Select a site. In a music service (such as Napster, iTunes, Musicmatch On Demand or eMusic) you get 100% legal, no problem of downloading music.
Also in the investigation of the online music site, if you have not answered your questions and concerns of the web, you should e-mail directly to try to ensure the answer you're looking for. If you do not get a response, or feel the response is inadequate, which is probably a sign that it's time for another music download site online.
